Okay, so that kind of sounds very different than the way I intended it to sound. What I mean is that it’s time to pick a toilet! (Three, actually.)
We have it narrowed down to three choices:
Icera Riose
Kohler Highline
Toto Carusoe
I like the Toto because I know it’s great quality, but the Kohler is a close competitor and it costs less. The Icera has a comparable flush but I may not be able to get it fast enough. What to choose?

… well, upstairs.
The stair railing was installed yesterday and it’s looking great. It still needs to be painted and stained (we’re doing it two-tone: white balusters, dark handrail and posts), but here are some pics.
I went over before the railing went up. It was a little freaky going up and down the stairs with no rail, but I had to try it!
Then I went back today to see the finished product.
Big improvement over the old, rickety, not-up-to-code railing!
I went to the house yesterday to check out the progress (upstairs bedrooms are being painted, looks great) and heard the unmistakable sound of chirping coming from the front porch overhang. So we dragged out a ladder, climbed up to get a better look, and…
…found a nestful of adorable baby birds! That’s right, our eggs hatched and now there’s a whole bunch of precious little birdies.
(On one hand, I can’t wait ’til they’re gone so we can put up spikes to prevent it from happening again, but on the other hand… look how cute they are!)
